Mission is No-Go!

Hi again!

Today i decided to try out the autotune function, that didn't go well, the quad started drifting towards a mesh fence and before i had time to change flight mode from my phone and then disarm the drone, it hit the fence and went upside-down

When i got it to disarm, i lifted it up and eveything seemed fine, until front prop popped off!
GREAT, the prop holder had loosened and fell off!

I started to search for it from the grass around the fence, no luck!!
I searched the area inch by inch but did not find the missing part.

Then, after 5 hours of searching, i gave up and went to buy few from ebay

Looks like my drone wont be taking off until next month when i recieve the replacement parts

Hello World of quadcopter's

Hi,
Let me give some little background for this blog.

I am a electronics hobbyist and programmer, i have always loved building all kinds of devices and gadgets.
Last year (2015)  i came across a jDrones APM1 quad copter kit and decided to try and build it!
It took almost a half a year to finish it, as the documentation was lacking and out-of-date, or rather, the kit itself was out-of-date so it was hard to find any proper instructions on setting the quadcopter up.

I decided to start off cheaply, so i got a Nine Eagles j5 RX/TX from a friend, as my drones Controller
I also added in a xBee module for wireless link to Misson Planner on laptop/phone

And after i got the battery, i tought that it was ready-to-fly ....
I have NEVER been so wrong in my life!!!

I noticed that i had grapped a 2 different pairs of props and that the battery i had was swollen like a balloon about to pop, so i had to get a new battery

THEN, i noticed that all the ESC's were spinning different speeds, so i had to figure a way to calibrate them to a propietary controller, the problem was that there was no documentation on the ESC's that i had, so i had to go by different kinds of manuals until i found a procedure that worked for my ESC's

All good so far?
NOPE!!

I decided to take a simple testflight after all the calibration and BOOM the drone flipped on its side and started to dig a hole in the ground, GG
So, i calibrated it again, and again, and again, and once more again, but the result was always the same, so i tried asking for help on diydrones communty, but got no response

then, TODAY, i finally figured out the problem, by accident

I had mixed up rear and right BEC cable's

So, FINALLY it didnt flip when i gave it little throttle!
SUCCESS, it got off the ground and hovered for a little while before i landed it and started celebrating my success

Then, i decided that i want to share the jorney that i have ahead
so, Welcome to my blog, i hope that you like it :)
